Our Mission
Evolve Praxis is dedicated to coaching, training, and co-creating intentional communities (of praxis) among individuals and organizations that share a commitment to human justice. By utilizing praxis—integrating theory with reflection and action—we empower our partners to enact meaningful change in their lives and communities.

Our Team
Alexandra (Alex) Louis, LMHC

At the heart of Alexandra (Alex) Louis's work is a simple belief: people thrive when they are truly seen, heard, and valued.
Alex is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), behavioral health leader, educator, and organizational consultant whose work sits at the intersection of mental health, leadership, and social justice. She is passionate about helping individuals, professionals, and organizations create meaningful and lasting change by cultivating cultures rooted in healing, equity, and belonging.
A proud daughter of Haitian immigrant parents, Alex was born in the Northeast and raised in Miami, Florida. Her lived experiences have profoundly shaped her commitment to advocacy, cultural humility, and anti-oppressive practice. She earned her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Massachusetts Boston and has spent nearly two decades working alongside children, adolescents, families, older adults, and communities navigating trauma, systemic inequities, and complex life challenges. These experiences continue to shape both her clinical work and her approach to leadership.
Throughout her career, Alex has been guided by the belief that healing cannot be separated from culture, identity, or the systems that shape people's lives. Whether supporting individuals through therapy, developing clinicians, or partnering with organizations, she is committed to creating spaces where people can heal from adversity, reconnect with their strengths, and discover that lasting change is possible. She believes that every person deserves to be seen, heard, and empowered—especially those whose voices have too often been overlooked or marginalized.
Today, Alex serves as Program Director for a statewide Functional Family Therapy (FFT) program in Florida, where she provides strategic leadership, develops clinical leaders, and supports high-quality services for youth and families across the state. While her leadership experience includes overseeing evidence-based behavioral health programs, her expertise extends beyond any single model. She partners with organizations and leaders to strengthen organizational culture, cultivate inclusive leadership, and build systems where people and communities can thrive.
Alex regularly facilitates workshops, keynote presentations, and professional development experiences on topics including anti-oppressive practice, cultural humility, trauma-informed care, leadership development, psychological safety, clinician growth, and organizational culture. Known for her engaging, thoughtful, and practical approach, she creates learning environments that invite honest dialogue, challenge assumptions with compassion, and equip participants with strategies they can immediately put into practice.
Whether she is leading a statewide initiative, mentoring emerging leaders, facilitating a training, or supporting someone through life's challenges, Alex approaches every interaction with authenticity, curiosity, and compassion. She believes meaningful transformation happens when people feel empowered to bring their full humanity into the work—and when organizations intentionally create spaces where that humanity can flourish.
Her mission is to help build people, leaders, organizations, and communities where healing, justice, and belonging are not simply aspirations, but everyday practice.
